HARRIS SERVES ON GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION TEACHER BURNOUT TASK FORCE

PAGE Board of Directors member Daerzio Harris serves as a PAGE representative on the state committee that produces the report “Teacher Burnout in Georgia: Voices from the Classroom”, commissioned by the Georgia Department of Education.
Daerzio Harris has been involved with the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE) since 2005, starting as a student member while at Georgia Southern University. Initially drawn by the affordable liability coverage, Daerzio quickly recognized the value of PAGE's professional learning opportunities and support of educators. Over nearly two decades, he has seen PAGE evolve from primarily offering liability insurance to becoming a comprehensive source of professional development and student opportunities, such as the Georgia Academic Decathlon and STAR programs. Daerzio is most proud of his involvement as the PAGE representative on the Georgia Department of Education committee that produced the “Teacher Burnout Report,” which has had a lasting impact on school improvement plans throughout the state. As president of the PAGE Board of Directors, Daerzio remains committed to ensuring that PAGE continues to be a proactive advocate for educators and students, with a special focus on addressing the unique needs of rural communities in Georgia.

Here are some comments from participants:
“The PAGE coaching experience has been a tremendous asset to me. The guidance and wisdom shared has benefited me regarding instruction, communication, and relationship skills, especially with coworkers and administration. I cannot thank my coach enough. Not only was she professional, but she was also supportive and uplifting during a time when I needed it most. I appreciate and recommend this service to anyone struggling in education.”
"The interaction with my coach was most useful. She asked questions to help me gain insight into how to better present my case to my principal. This yielded a good result.”
