JIMMY JORDAN IS HIRED AS FIRST MSR IN THE AREA SERVING MONTICELLO TO AUGUSTA

Jimmy Jordan began his career with the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE) in 2000, serving Monticello to Augusta, after 28.5 years in education. In 2014, Jordan becomes the director of membership for PAGE. As one of the first Membership Service Representatives (MSR), he helped expand PAGE’s membership from 48,000 to 95,000 by the time he retired in 2022. Jimmy was pivotal in increasing PAGE’s visibility, emphasizing the importance of MSRs visiting schools and forming personal connections with educators. He also played a key role in PAGE’s early efforts to address the teacher shortage by promoting education careers to high school and college students through the Future Georgia Educators program. A major challenge during his tenure was navigating an increasingly litigious environment, but PAGE’s legal support and ethics training helped educators feel secure. Jimmy’s favorite memories were of the relationships he built with his PAGE colleagues and the educators he served. His legacy is defined by his commitment to supporting educators and growing PAGE’s influence across Georgia.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Dr. Allene Magill’s legacy is inseparable from the growth and impact of the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE). As executive director from 2003 to 2017, she led PAGE through a period of transformational growth, expanding membership from 54,000 to 92,000 and championing professional learning across Georgia. Beginning her career as a paraprofessional in Mississippi, Dr. Magill rose to become superintendent in Paulding and Forsyth counties, and later Dalton Public Schools. Her leadership style emphasized innovation, excellence, and equity in education. At PAGE, she built regional networks to foster educator collaboration and prioritized high-quality, student-focused professional development. A two-time Georgia Superintendent of the Year, Dr. Magill also served as president of major educational leadership associations and was appointed to the Board of Regents. Her unexpected passing in 2018 was a profound loss, but her vision and advocacy continue to shape Georgia’s education landscape and inspire generations of teacher-leaders.
